What Is An Instagram Influencer?

0
What-Is-An-Instagram-Influencer

Instagram Influencer… promoter… marketer… they’re phrases we hear all the time now, but what do they mean? What is an Instagram Influencer? And why are there so many around right now?

An Influencer is pretty much what it says on the tin. It’s a person who influences other people… and on social media it’s a person who is influencing other people to do something or buy something… using social media.

So how do they do that?

Simply through posting pictures of products on their social media.

Seems simple right?… But why would people do that unless there’s something in it for them?

Well, they probably wouldn’t and yep, you guessed right… there is something in it for them. In fact there’s so many Influencers out there who actually do it for a career. That’s what’s in it for them…

Influencers either get sent items for free to promote on their page, or get paid… or both!

Sounds awesome, doesn’t it?!

So Who Are Instagram Influencers?

Instagram influencers are usually those people with lots of followers… and I mean lots.

Think of it from the point of view of the businesses who want to promote their products or services. They obviously want as many people as possible to see their product so that they will end up with more sales.

So there’s no point in an Instagrammer with 200 followers posting a photo of a product in the hope to send some customers to a business because even if every one of their followers purchased (which is pretty unlikely), they could get way more customers just by sending their product to a different Influencer instead.

So… businesses tend to target the accounts with over 10k followers. Now, that doesn’t mean that accounts with less than 10k followers can’t be Influencers… because it also depends on engagement levels.

That basically means, when someone posts a photo on Instagram, how many people like, comment and engage with the post. Because higher engagement on a post generally shows that more people are interested in it, so…

More people are likely to click through to the business’ page and look at their products… and…

The good ol’ Instagram algorithm comes into play – the more engagement a post gets, the more likely Instagram is to show it to more people… and then the more people that see it, the more engagement the post will probably get… and the more engagement, the more chance of customers…and Instagram showing it to more people… and round in circles we go… You get the picture, right?

The higher a person’s follower count on Instagram generally shows that more people are interested in them and respect their opinion. So if a girl who posts pictures of makeup regularly and writes a little bit about her experience using the product, her followers will generally trust her opinion and they’re more likely to try it out themselves.

“I mean, if she thought it was good then it must be good, because she knows what she’s talking about… have you SEEN the amount of makeup she has?!”

Yeah, it will probably go something like that… maybe. (This definitely hasn’t happened to me… maybe… okay, yes it has…). Anyway…

So Why Are Influencers SO Important?

For a business who is on social media (and that should be pretty much everyone right now), then using Influencers is one of the quickest ways to get your name out there and attract more customers.

Why?

I’ll give you an example… using the makeup girl from before…let’s call her Polly.

Ok, so imagine you’re a business and you’ve just brought out some new sparkly makeup product. Now… you need customers. And to get customers from Instagram you need people to see your posts and to follow you.

Following so far? Good.

So… you come across Polly on Instagram and see that she has 30,000 followers and she takes some pretty awesome photos of makeup products… AND… she gets lots of likes and comments on each post.

Her followers must like those types of products, right? Because they follow her and engage with her posts… So all you need to do is ask Polly to promote your product.

If your product is on her page, her audience (which is also your target audience) will see it and they’re more likely to click through to your page or website after seeing it on Polly’s page than if they saw it on a random page.

But why? Why… is because Polly has build a level of trust and respect with her followers and as her followers have grown she has become a kind of authority figure to them.

So… more people clicking through to your page means more chance of followers, sales and dollar dollar bill y’all.

Following me?

Good… but…

How do you connect with Influencers?

Simple. Message them.

Start a conversation with them and build a relationship. Then ask if you can send them one of your products to feature on their page (Never ask them to pay – why would they pay to advertise for you?!).

Some influencers are happy to feature your product on their page purely in exchange for a product. Others with higher followings will expect to be paid for it.

So depending on how many followers you want to see your product, be prepared to pay.

Trust me, it’s worth it in the long run!

Another way to draw in more customers is by giving…

Discount Codes

The Influencer has a personalised discount code which they can advertise to their followers. Think of it as a ‘new customer discount’.

If any of the Influencer’s followers want to try your item, they use the Influencer’s discount code and save themselves some money… And you can track how many people have used the code and so see how successful your collaboration has been with the Influencer.

So everybody’s happy!

So basically, to sum it up, you need to find an influencer in the same niche as you and send them one of your products for free to feature on their page.

Their thousands of followers who you know like products like yours, get to see your product being used/worn/shown by the person they love to see.

I’ll add to this post soon and go into more depth about the different types of collaborations, and if you’re interested in how to become an influencer, I’ll make sure to include this too.

What Is A Finsta? Actually, It Might Be The Best Thing For Your Teenagers!

0
What is a finsta? - Insta Secrets

There’s really only one of two reasons you’re here. I mean, I know you’re searching for the answer to “ what is a finsta ”…but…there’s only one of two reasons you’re doing that.

  1. You’re a curious teen who overheard someone else talking about their finsta
  2. You’re a parent trying to find out what your kids are up to

Okay, well maybe there’s other reasons like you’re just curious…or…you just love reading my blog posts. Whatever. Let’s get to it.

What Is A Finsta?

Now, before we do anything else, you need to know that “Finsta” is not a new app…it’s not a new high-school drug…it’s not a new “dating-trend”. (Man I’m starting to feel old here – I swear I’m not!)

It’s actually way more simple than that, and…in a few minutes, you’ll see why I think it’s actually the best thing your kids are probably doing right now. (Most of the time.)

So what does Finsta mean?

Finsta = F(ake) Insta(gram)

I know, creative huh? Look, kids can be creative but they’re a hell of a lot more efficient than they are creative these days. You know what I’m talking about.

They’ll always find the shortest route to getting something done – which by the way, is not a bad thing…in fact, it’s how innovators, entrepreneurs and millionaires are made!

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, Finsta. Well, if you’ve got a daughter, it’s probably no surprise that teenage girls are the pioneers and main users of these accounts. And, to cut a potentially long story short…they’re using them to post anything funny, embarrassing, raunchy…or…just downright not suitable for their real Instagram.

BUT WAIT!

Before you start to panic…probably because I used the word raunchy…you need to know a few things.

First of all…

Why Are Your Kids Creating Finstas?

A quick stroll down the top results on Google for “ what is a finsta ” will bring back a bunch of articles answering that exact question – usually with a recommendation that you should worry your ass off and start some sort of mission to spy, snoop…and even…create your own Finsta to attempt to snoop their Finsta.

Just. Don’t.

Listen to me: Your kids want privacy. They want to be able to express themselves in private and they sure as hell don’t want to feel like the people they trust most in the world…are the ones interrogating them and snooping through their phones.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t worry at all…because…well, sometimes these Finsta’s contain underwear snaps or drugs. BUT…

You invading their privacy isn’t going to fix that problem. In fact, I think you know it would make it worse.

Now, I’m not a parent. I’m not a parenting expert. I’m not a psychologist or a therapist. I’m just giving you another perspective – like a friend would do.

And, to be honest, the way I see it. Finstas are (mostly) a good thing.

We live in a materialistic world…and…Instagram is the top, bottom and everything in between of that materialisticness (no, that’s not a real word – but I claim it, thank you)!

It has become a portfolio of beautiful women, ripped guys, rich kids, richer celebrities, luxury cars, luxury houses, travellers seeing places most people dream about…and…fashion brands – who generally show off the first two things on this list.

Your kids are part of that world. They will put more effort into their next Instagram post than they will put into their homework. You can bet on it. I’d go as far as to say they spend more time on Instagram per week than they spend on that homework…plus…the time they spend eating food. You know, so they can stay alive at least until their next post.

But here’s the thing…

A Finsta Is A Way To Show Their Real Personality

It’s ironic that they’ve called this new trend a “Fake Instagram” when it actually shows off their real side. It’s a place where they don’t feel judged. Where they can post silly faces. A place where they can act their age.

How is that a bad thing?

Sure, some out there will use it for the wrong reason…but what if your daughter just wants to express herself without worrying about anyone judging her?

Then you come in, interrogate, snoop and punish her for it. Well we all know by now that just creates rebelious behaviour, and that my friend is a one way ticket to…bad-relationship-ville (also not a thing – I do not claim this one…so you can have it when you tell your friends about this post).

It’s just not the right way to handle it.

The ONLY way you should handle this is to ask them point blank if they have one…and…if they’re just using it for silly photos. If they’re not comfortable showing you, that doesn’t automatically mean they’re hiding a lingerie modelling portfolio. It might just mean they’ve got pictures on there of something embarrassing they wouldn’t want their parents seeing.

It’s your call.

But whatever you decide, at least you now have a good answer when your friends ask you: what is a finsta…

Oh…and…if you don’t believe me about how much time people spend on their “Real Instagram” accounts. Check out this hilarious article from a girl who tried to get Instagram famous in a month: Click here

Best Camera For Vlogging Under 100

Best-Camera-For-Vlogging-Under-100 - Insta Secrets

So, you wanna know what the best camera for vlogging under £100 is, right? And you want an awesome camera to make your vlogs INCRED. Buuut they’re all so expensive aren’t they? Especially if you want a decent brand..?

Well, fear not my friend. I have done the hard work and I’m here to share with you…

The Best Camera for Vlogging Under £100

Yep, you heard that right, the best camera for vlogging Under £100. It is possible to get a decent camera at a pretty decent price.

So, let’s take a look at them:

1. Nikon Coolpix A10Nikon Coolpix A10 - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100

Available in a wide range of colours and at an affordable price, this is the perfect camera for starting out. The camera features a 16.1MP sensor and has a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens.

The 720p video mode makes it perfect for vlogging. You can choose the resolution when shooting and if you’re just taking pictures you can select the ISO and white balance settings.

The camera is powered by 2 AA batteries which is great for travelling (and there’s not the risk of losing the charger!). With scene modes, creative effects and effects which can be applied during playback, including slide shows, rotations and skin softening, you can mix up your video style.

Video is recorded at 30fps. Unfortunately it’s not possible to use optical zoom whilst recording which isn’t great – the camera will revert to digital zoom which can be a little blurry. But the A10 comes with electronic image stabilisation which keeps your videos on the straight and narrow whilst filming.

For the small price tag, the A10 is a pretty impressive camera.

2. Ivation 20MP Underwater Shockproof Digital Camera

Ivation 20MP Underwater Shockproof Digital Camera - Best Vlogging Cameras under 100

Okay, so it might not be the prettiest looking camera and it might not be as big of a name as Nikon or Sony, but this camera has features that most of those bigger names don’t have.

The Ivation 20MP is shockproof, dust proof and waterproof, so you can pretty much shoot your vlogs anywhere with this camera without any worry of damaging it.

Annnnd the quality of the videos the Ivation produces is high, even when shooting underwater – now that’s impressive!

You can even shoot selfies with confidence using the front facing 1.8inch display so you can see exactly what your vlog is looking like as you’re shooting it.

The camera runs on 2 AAA batteries – again it’s great for travelling and the number of shots can be increased by using rechargeable batteries but it can be quite costly replacing them regularly.

3. Akaso EK7000 4K Sport Action CameraAkaso EK7000 4K Sport Action Camera - Best Vlogging Camera under 100

If you want an action camera but you don’t want to empty your life savings on one and then feel like you have to protect it with your life because the tiniest bump can damage it, then the solution is here. The Akaso EK7000 does pretty much everything that a GoPro does but it a fraction of the price.

This camera produces professional videos at 25fps (4K) and 30fps (2.7K). You can even attach it to your wrist so you can be recording whilst getting involved in the action.

Waterproof to 100feet, you can take some decent underwater shots and it is perfect for watersports. The rubbery sides of the camera can also help to maintain grip whilst shooting.

Overall this camera is perfect for anyone – high quality images and videos, hard to damage and not too expensive!

4. Sony Cyber Shot DSCW810Sony Cyber Shot DSC W810 - Best Vlogging Camera under 100

This camera has been labelled as one of the best vlogging cameras for less than £100 by so many users.

Perfect for vloggers who like to get up close and personal with their product reviews, or simply like attention to detail, this camera can record videos in 720p at 30fps. It uses optical image stabilization to keep videos perfectly still and focussed and it even helps you take videos in low light with its super cool ‘Party Mode’.

This camera isn’t run on batteries, you’ll be pleased to know and it can be charged with USB which makes life that little bit easier too.

5. Sony DSC W800/BSony DSC W800/B - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100

This camera has 20.1MP, 5x optical zoom and 10 clear image zoom which makes this another camera which is perfect for vloggers. It produces high quality images with low noise and even has a Steady Shot image stabilisation feature to keep those images looking super sharp with no blurriness.

It’s lightweight and slim so it’s perfect for carrying round when travelling and vlogging. It can be charged via USB so there’s no need to worry about the batteries running out and searching for more before you can use it.

The sound quality on the camera isn’t great but this is probably one of the only downsides of the camera and some would say that this is outweighed by the high quality images and videos it can take.

6. Nikon Coolpix A300

Nikon Coolpix A300 - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100Firstly, don’t be put off by the colour – it comes in other 4 colours so if this bright red isn’t for you, you can still keep this camera in mind as a potential buy. It is 20.1 MP and has an incredible 8x optical zoom and 16x dynamic fine zoom which is a lot better than other cameras for this price.

Vibration reduction makes sure the camera doesn’t wobble when you’re taking those close up detailed shots. It’s slim and lightweight so will easily fit in your pocket so you can take quality pictures on the go.

Experiment with effects and filters such as skin softening and retouching.

On a side note, this camera is slightly over our £100 budget, but it is such great quality for the price, I wanted to put it in to share.

7. Canon IXUS 185

Canon IXUS 185 - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100

Light and compact, this camera has 20MP and 10x optical zoom lens. 720p video recording and wifi connectivity also make this camera a high contender in the competition for best vlogging camera.

Usually this camera retails at over £100, but Amazon are currently selling it for £93.93 – how long it will stay at this price, I don’t know – so it might be worth snapping it up while you can (snapping – see what I did there…?).

It’s super easy to use, you can turn it on and shoot immediately. Buuuut if you wanna play around with the light sensitivity etc., it’s super easy to do too!

8. Polaroid Cube HDPolaroid Cube HD - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100

This isn’t one of the newest cameras around but it’s still one of the best. It’s super tiny cubic package has a built in magnet or clip to secure it while you film.

It films up to 90 minutes of footage before needing to be recharged. It is lightweight and perfect for taking photos and video (1080p).

Insert a micro SD card for storage and capture those wide angle shots with it’s 124 degree wide angle lens.

Small enough to hold in your palm, it can not only be used for vlogging, but also a dashcam and it can easily fit into your pocket to carry it around with you in preparation for those spontaneous moments you want to capture.

9. Canon Powershot ELPH 180 Digital CameraCanon Powershot ELPH 180 - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100

At just under £100, this camera has 8x optical zoom and 20MP sensor to capture high quality photos. Video recording in HD 720p and digital image stabilisation reduces camera shake and subject movement to help you get the perfect shot.

It has faster performance than other models in the price range and produces higher quality images. Small and compact, easily fit the camera in your pocket for pictures on the go.

It also has a face detection feature to focus on the faces of your subject.

The downside to this camera is that it has no wireless connection and the LCD screen is pretty small. Buuuut it’s a low priced camera that produces high quality images – so you can’t expect all the features of the more expensive ones.

10. Nikon Coolpix s33

Nikon Coolpix s33 - Best Vlogging Camera Under 100
The 1080p HD video recording quality makes this camera stand out more than others when it comes to vlogging. And while other cameras may have poor sound quality on videos, the s33’s stereo sound feature makes the videos way more professional.

The camera is waterproof up to 33 feet and shockproof up to 5 feet. It runs on batteries but like with other cameras above, the shoot life can be extended using rechargeable batteries.

It’s 13.2MP sensor and 3x optical zoom make this camera fall behind some of the similar ones but it is still super popular.

To buy this camera in a new condition, it’s usually around £150, but you can pick up a ‘used’ one for around £80.

So there you have it! Take your pick and arm yourself with the best camera for vlogging under £100! You owe it to yourself!

How to Hashtag on Instagram Without it Showing

1
How-To-Hashtag-On-Instagram-Without-It-Showing

The question on everyone’s lips… How to hashtag on Instagram without it showing …

And the solution is so simple you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it in your sleep.

But first, why would you want to hide your hashtags on Instagram? Hashtags are what gets you seen aren’t they?

Yep, you’re right, they are.

In fact, hashtags are wayyyy more important than most people think.

Never Underestimate the Power of the Hashtag!

Hashtags are the best way for your post to be seen by your followers and people who aren’t following you…

And making sure that you post hashtags when you post your photos is your best shot at getting your post seen by the most people in the shortest amount of time.

But… and this is a BIG but…

The hashtags you use must be relevant to your post.

If they’re not, then

  1. People won’t open your picture of a cat when they’ve searched for #ferrari and…
  2. Your account might get branded as spam and then you definitely won’t be getting the engagement you want.

If you don’t use any hashtags, then the people who don’t already follow you probably won’t see your post. In fact, not many people at all will see it unless they’re online at the time or if they check on your profile regularly.

Unless… you spend ages following new people, liking their posts in the hope that they hop over to your profile and check you out… or if your account pops up on theirs as a ‘Suggestion for you’ and they check you out then…

But either way, hashtags are waayyyyy quicker and virtually guarantee you more exposure.

By using hashtags you’re opening up the door to a whole sea of people looking for posts like yours.

And hashtags they still work even if they’re ‘hidden’. I know right, this is awesome…

Buuttttt…. a huge chunk of hashtags in the caption or even the comment section of your post can make your entire post look cluttered, messy and unprofessional.

And I’m pretty sure that if you’ve posted a picture on Instagram it’s because you actually want people to see it, right? Well that pile of hashtags right underneath can act as a distraction and take the focus away from your image.

And we don’t want that do we? No, we want to know how to hashtag on Instagram without it showing, right?

Hashtags in Comments

If you’ve googled hashtags before then you’ve probably seen loads of “experts” telling you that you need to put your hashtags in the comments section and not the caption.

Well, you should listen to them… because, ladies and gentlemen, they’re right.

You see, if you type your hashtags in a comment, then when your post gets more comments, Instagram can’t show them all so it’s likely that your messy bundle of hashtags will get sucked into the ‘Load more comments’ section and no one will see them.

Yay, perfect! So that’s it then?

Not exactly… What if you put your hashtags in the comment sections of your post but don’t get any other comments?

Your pile of hashtags will be there for all to see. And now you’re back at square one.

Wanna know how to fix this?

Of course you do, that’s why you’re here.

It’s super simple. In fact I’m going to explain it in 5 simple steps.

5 Steps to Hashtag on Instagram Without it Showing

  1. Open a text editor on your phone. (Most people use notes on iPhone but Evernote is also a good choice)
  2. Type a dot ‘.’ and press the return key so the cursor goes onto a new line. Do this 5 times so you end up with 5 dots underneath each other.
  3. Type out your hashtags in the space underneath your 5th dot.
  4. Copy the whole note (the 5 dots, line breaks and the hashtags altogether).
  5. Open Instagram, post your photo with a caption and paste your dots and hashtags into a comment underneath it.

Here’s how Step 2 and 3 look:

[/one_half_last]

Done!

Now all you’ll see is an ellipsis (3 dots …) like this:

Ellipsis - How To HAshtag on Instagram without it Showing
@vkpositivequotes

You’ve still used you usual 30 hashtags but your post is crisp and clean and they’re nowhere to be seen. Your post looks way less cluttered and more professional.

So, next time someone asks you how to hashtag on Instagram without it showing, you can tell them that you know EXACTLY how to do it…and you’ll even show them! (If they buy you a Starbucks…obviously!)

The Big Low-Down On Semrush vs Long Tail Pro

0
Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro - Insta Secrets

If you’re trying to decide between Semrush vs Long Tail Pro …and…you have no idea what to choose or why to choose it…then you’re reading the right article.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Isn’t this an Instagram secrets website? Why are we talking about keywords?”

Here’s the reason:

You should have a blog. I don’t care what you’re doing – in 2018, the number one way for you to get away from your 9-5 is to start an online business…and…the cheapest way to start a profitable online business is with a blog.

Then, the way to take that blog, strap a jet engine to it…and…start making money as fast as possible…is with keyword research.

Sure, I know that you can direct your Instagram audience to your blog, so you get points for that. But whether you like it or not, blogs live and die on Google – that’s usually where most of your readers will come from, and the keyword research helps you to know exactly what they’re looking for.

At this point, the mention of “traffic”…and…”Google”…and…”keyword research” is often enough to make even professional bloggers pull their hair out. But, getting traffic from search engines doesn’t have to be this incredibly difficult, infuriating, eyeball-straining task.

In fact, it can be easy. Really easy.

You just need to choose the right weapon in the fight against your competitors… and… your fragile rankings.

I mean, can you imagine losing out your main traffic source to a competitor. Just because you decided to ignore the tools that they’ve started using. There’s always someone at your heels trying to take what’s yours.

So…

Either you’re the one on top trying to stay on top…or…you’re the one who’s trying to steal that top spot.

Either way, your goals are the same. Getting to number one.

And, you know the top search result gets most of the clicks, right?

You do? Good.

So you know how important it is to be that top result. Let’s take a look at the tools that can put you there, but first, I want to tell you why you should even consider these tools.

The Main Benefit: Your Time

You see, your time is the most important thing you have when it comes to your assets. And, whether you like it or not, you do have to decide where you should spend your time. Sure, you could choose to spend it on hours of endless keyword guessing games and shooting blindly at which competitor is best to target…but…does that sound like what you got in this for?

To be manually stalking your competition like the creepy high school kid in almost every teenage movie?

No, you don’t want that.

You want to be sip a nice cold drink on a beach while your business is on autopilot.

Well, this tool gives you as close to autopilot as you’re gonna get. Especially when you combine your blog with your Instagram audience…it becomes silly easy.

And, honestly…

It’s Kinda’ Fun

Because, while your competitors are busy wasting their time manually using free tools and searching high and low for their next blog idea. You’ve gone in, found some ultra-valuable keywords, written a blog post and bounced it onto your website before they’ve even spat out a title.

Not to mention the fact it feels wrong in all the right ways. I mean, should you actually have access to all of your enemy’s secrets? Should you be able to see all of these hidden secrets that no one else can? Should you use it to leap-frog them on Google and steal all of their hard-earned customers?

The answer: Yes. You really should.

Sure, there’s a cost involved. But for what you get, you’d be crazy to not set aside a little bit of money every month to work on your dream.

Forget your pension or 401K… throw that money at growing your website and business and instead, drive round in a Ferrari in a years time because you own your entire niche.

But…

Who Should Use These Tools?

To be honest, anyone who has a website or online presence should use these tools…but…not everyone will.

Now, that can either be of benefit to you…or…if you decide not to use it, it’s of benefit to your competitors.

You see, as a blogger or business owner, these tools help you to keep track of your website performance and gain an inside-track on growing your traffic and profits. So, if you fall into any of the categories below, these tools are for you (be sure to check out the benefits of each tool given later because they might just surprise you):

  • Bloggers
  • Online business owners
  • Local business owners
  • Digital marketers
  • Anyone involved in advertising for a website or online retailer
  • Social media managers

Oh, but before anything else and…

Before You Skim On Down The Page…

A friend of mine once told me about a time he lost a lot of money trading on the stock market. He’d done the usual thing of reading a few books and thinking he knew what to do.

But…after a few winning streaks, I kinda bought into it too. Well, at least, I started to believe him.

Thank god I didn’t put any money in. It turned out, he was just getting lucky. In fact, he might as well have tried to win the lottery because the odds of him winning so often were unheard of. Granted, they weren’t big wins…but…they were still wins. And they were consistent.

But, it turns out, he was “skim reading” all of the material. He missed vital steps that he should have taken to protect himself from a big loss. And what happened, he lost it all. He actually had to move in with his parents again for a while because he couldn’t afford the rent.

Since that day, I’ve made sure…I read…I don’t skim.

Alright, enough of that.

Let’s find out about the first part of Semrush vs Long Tail Pro…

Semrush

The all-in-one market domination tool for only the best, and most beautiful, marketers out there…

Convinced yet? No? Okay. Well, on a more serious note:

Semrush is a competitor-intelligence tool, which basically translates to mean, it gives you the lowdown on what your enemy is up to. (Or enemies depending on how hostile you are. Here’s a tip: be hostile. It’s boring being too friendly.)

What Are The Benefits Of Semrush?

  • Hijack your competitors traffic and send a flood of new customers to YOUR website instead of theirs.
  • Stop any up-and-coming bloggers from stealing YOUR top spot!
  • Go after a worldwide audience by exploring multinational and multilingual environments!
  • Know exactly which keywords your competitor targets regularly so you can target the same…and…position yourself as the go-to source of information
  • Use the Floyd Mayweather trick and only pick fights you know you can win by setting side by side domain comparisons. So you can see which competitor to take on next
  • Find the holy grail(s) of search traffic – low competition keywords. These can bring you easy traffic with almost no effort. (Plus, you get to stay top-dog for longer)
  • Take your battle-plan offline, so you can strategize on the beach, by using the PDF reports
  • Keep it mobile by having the ability to track anything, from any location in the world
  • Strangle out any local competition and make damn sure they know this town is only big enough for one of you
  • Spot problems before they cripple your website using the SEO analysis tool to check site health
  • “Don’t spend time fixing a broken toenail if you just broke your leg” – Prioritize SEO issues and decide what to fix first!
  • Find out which social media campaigns work best and track it all in the same dashboard!
  • Is your site getting the love it deserves? Use the backlink monitor to find out!
  • Steal backlinks from competitors by seeing who links to their articles, reaching out to them quietly, and offering to provide them with an awesome resource/favour/whatever!
  • Stomp out any disease that may be quietly affecting your website performance…and… destroying your rankings…using the Google ranking factors analysis!
  • NEVER again “blindly” search for the right keywords for SEO and PPC campaigns. Plus, virtually guarantee every campaign is profitable from now on!
  • Some of your pages may get a lot of love and you won’t even know it…now you can find them, and share that love with all of your other page!
  • Watch your competitors ad spend shoot through the roof while they try to “buy” their seat at the table by uncovering their ad strategies and budgets!
  • Semrush gurus will show you how to burn your competitors and “legally steal” their business!

OK, so what’s the catch? Well, like any tool worth it’s salt. The catch is the price. But…

What would you pay for this kind of intelligence?

I mean, if you knew that you’d get just one of those benefits above, what would you pay?

If you could just:

  • Save your website from any problems that could end up in it losing it’s Google ranking completely
  • Steal traffic from your customers without breaking ANY rules at all
  • Watch your profits go up and up and up because you’re spending nothing to acquire thousands of new customers every year

Let me ask you this: Would you spend $250 a month to get back $500 in profit?

How about $500 a month to get back $1000 in profit?

You see, some of the keywords you can find and target will bring in returns like that, and more. But to put virtual icing on the cake, you’re not gonna spend $500 a month on this tool…and…you’re not gonna be spending $250 either.

Here are the pricing plans:

Semrush Prices

Now, I know a review wouldn’t be complete without giving you all of the bad parts about the tool, so, in the interest of full and complete honesty.

What Are The Cons Of Semrush?

  • The overwhelming amount of information can paralyse you
  • The keyword difficulty score is unreliable sometimes, especially when put next to Long Tail Pro
  • They could improve the user experience on the dashboard – sometimes it’s hard to know where you need to go to find what you’re looking for

You know, that last bullet point got me thinking, I know this is a review, well, it’s an answer to Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro …but…maybe I should show you…

How To Use Semrush

I’ll be honest, it’s fairly easy to get to grips with this one.

OK, it’s very easy…it’s almost…too…easy…at first. Like they’re trying to give you a false sense of security. It’s not until you throw your URL into the innocent-looking box that all hell seems to break loose and you’re left with what looks like a stock-trading sheet.

Here’s what I mean: Starts off beautiful…

Semrush Home Screen - Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro - Keyword Research Tool Review - Insta Secrets

See that? Lovely.

Then, we throw in a keyword we’d like to check out…

Semrush Dashboard - Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro - Keyword Research Tool Review - Insta Secrets

Semrush Dashboard 2 - Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro - Keyword Research Tool Review - Insta Secrets

Well gawdamn.

What the hell happened?

Well, to save you from any pain right now, here’s a watered down version of how to use Semrush.

The keyword research tab is where you’ll want to head first. This is where you should base all of your research. What do I mean by that?

Well, let me put it this way: You should NEVER stop researching your keywords.

In fact, you should treat it like you’re Leonardo Dicaprio in Inception and research keywords within keywords within keywords…because…that’s where the magic happens. That’s where you’ll find the untapped traffic potential.

So…

Make a note of any keywords you like the look of, then simply put those keywords into the tool and check those out too. Rinse and repeat until you’ve got a boat-load of new keywords you can quickly target, write articles for, then… sit back and count the money.

As much as I’d like to pretend all’s well…

Like I said, sometimes Semrush doesn’t give you the true competitiveness of keywords, and honestly, that can be a pain in the ass…but…you can easily check out each keyword before you write an article to see what the competition is like on the first page of Google. Here’s a tip: Use Mozbar.

Now listen up: Make sure the top search results of each keyword are either blogs, forums or social media pages. Basically anything that is content based instead of an online store.

If you try to rank an article for the keyword Nike Trainers – you could have the highest domain blog on the internet, you’re still not gonna get a look at the top spot because people who search those words, want to buy Nike Trainers…10/10 times. (Probably.)

The point is, it’s not the keyword to target with a blog.

But… “How to clean trainers” is probably a better example.

Go ahead, throw that in Semrush and see what it spits out for you.

By the way – I didn’t do this so I have no idea what’s gonna show up.

BUT WAIT! Don’t do it right now, jeez, what did I say earlier about making sure you actually read from now on?!

Up next: The other half of Semrush vs Long Tail Pro …obviously…it’s…

Long Tail Pro

Ok, so, another tool…but…how’s it any different from Semrush? Why am I even bothering talking about this one? I mean, you’re probably pretty sold on Semrush by now, right?

Don’t worry, I’m not that easy to fool…

You want the whole picture and that, my friend, is the best damn way you can be when it comes to what you’ll spend your money on.

Long Tail Pro is hands-down one of the best keyword research tools on the market today. In fact, they’ve pretty much had that reputation the whole time they’ve been around.

And for good reason. I mean, they scrape a lot of data from Google’s Keyword Planner…but…imagine the keyword planner on steroids. You see, the problem with Google’s tool is: Everyone else searches…and finds…the same group of keywords. And, since they mostly want advertisers, they lean in favour of keywords with successful ads behind them – compared to keywords that you want to rank organically for.

Enter, Long Tail Pro. The tool that sniffs out low competition keywords and spits out the competitiveness with an almost pinpoint accuracy. Which means you get to move onto content creation (aka Google domination) as soon as possible. And, you’re not competing with the millions of other bloggers who haven’t moved on from the Keyword planner yet because they can’t face another break up.

You see, the more savvy marketers out there went through with that break up a long time ago, and believe me, it was an upgrade. Like…a real…big…upgrade. No crying in the shower about failed relationships here.

Okay…so…

What Are The Benefits Of Longtail Pro?

  • Aim your sights on only the most profitable niches…and…the most profitable keywords in those niches!
  • Easily create targeted campaigns primed for Google. (This is like strapping a rocket to your traffic-ometer…if…you can spare the money for ads!)
  • See dollar signs for every keyword by keeping a keen-eye on the value column – a readout of what the top search result is worth in income from ads!
  • Instantly “drill-down” to find the perfect keyword for your next blog post…no matter how many results you’ve collected!
  • Hunt down those “almost cheating” keywords that are so easy to rank for…you’ll waste most of your time laughing.
  • Never make the costly mistake of going into the wrong niche – this could save you bags of time and money!
  • Find out “everything” there is to know about any exact-match keyword. (This is information you’ll struggle to find anywhere else!)
  • Earn a ton more money with adsense by seeing the CPC on every keyword. (A wet-dream for niche site owners who monetise using display ads!)
  • Combine the last 2 points to optimize conversions on ANY landing page. (This is the new way to earn big profits online!)
  • Find out exactly who…and what…you’re up against on the first page of Google. (This alone gives you a drastic edge over most marketers!)
  • Never again suffer from “bloggers block” – with keyword suggestions for every niche, it’s almost impossible to run out of content ideas!
  • Always keep the competitive edge and stay ahead because a team of experts (who are also active marketers and bloggers) support, maintain…and…update the tool regularly – especially when there’s a Google update.
  • Slash the time it takes to do keyword research! It’ll take seconds to get hundreds of results…so you can get back to doing more important things…like earning money…or…world domination. Whatever.
  • Instantly discover how easy…or hard…it is to steal the top spot on Google for any keyword. (Most people make a big mistake here and waste time writing articles that won’t ever have a chance at seeing any search traffic!)
  • Remember: Google isn’t “The Internet.” Both Bing and Yahoo give you opportunities to boost your reach…so…it’s a good job you can check rankings on all 3.
  • Quickly eliminate “time-wasting” results that will do nothing for your content plan! (Something I would happily pay full price for even if it was the only feature!)

Plus waayyy more…but…those were the benefits that jumped out at me. So, see what you think about the Semrush vs Long Tail Pro battle by grabbing the free trials.

Again, the catch here is the price (obviously), but, it’s actually cheaper than it was. They now offer these plans:

Pretty sweet deal for all those benefits if you ask me. But anyway, where was I? Oh yeah…

What Are The Cons Of Long Tail Pro?

Here goes:

  • The web based version that is now in full go-mode has request limitations…and…that…slows you down slightly.
  • Being relatively new, it has bugs. I know all software has bugs but they do seem to crop up often at times. Maybe it’s when they’re testing out new features? I don’t know. But at one point, I had to contact support because the tool seemed to fall over on me and I lost a few days. (Turns out this was just a caching issue. So, if it happens to you, just clear your browser cache!)
  • The user experience isn’t great. To be honest, sometimes it’s frustrating and I do the ol’ *throw my hands up in anger* thing that you see on cartoons and in movies.
  • It’s also annoying if you ever accidentally forget to change your “campaign” before searching for keywords in a different niche. Several times I’ve realised too late and ended up with completely irrelevant keywords in a pile that was previously pin-point accurate. (Easy way around this…don’t be forgetful like me.)
  • The biggest drawback is the monthly keyword search volume. This is sort of a credit system where every month, you’re given a maximum amount of 10,000 keywords (on the lowest plan). This all sounds good but, obviously you will still pick up keywords that are unusable so a lot of those credits end up wasted.
  • And finally, obviously, Long Tail Pro has pretty much just the one feature…keyword research. That’s not always a bad thing because it does it very, very well. But still…it’s not a “complete” package.

Okay, so now that’s out of the way.

Let’s take a look at…

How To Use Long Tail Pro

Okay, so get this: Long Tail Pro have recently switched to an online hosted version (it used to be a desktop download), and let me tell you, it’s sooo much better now.

LTPro - Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro

Obviously, there’s a trial version so you can try all this out, but if you head over there, throw in some seed keywords and see what Long Tail throws back at you.

My guess, it’ll impress ya. Instantly.

Obviously, your version will have keywords in there…but I’m not here to find keywords for you so I’ve hidden some of the juicy ones!

There are a few things you can mess around with such as filtering results based on keyword competitiveness or search volume or the presence of a certain word or the number of words in the query. Whatever.

The point is, you want to use these filters to focus that laser even more, to the point where you’re burning a nice hole in your blog. Or your competitors blog. I don’t know. Just go with me here.

Basically, the more effort you put into squeezing every last drop of goodness out of this tool, the better your keyword results will be…and…the better your blog will be – you’ll have a load more traffic.

Anyway, once you’ve had some keyword suggestions spat back at you: You’ll want to check the keyword competitiveness of them all. My advice, especially if your blog is under DA50 – aim for a score of less than 40. Always.

You’re gonna struggle to rank for anything with a higher score because usually you’re playing against blogs that rake in millions of dollars a year and have an army of writers at their disposal. By the time you’ve put up an article, they’ll have written 10 and they’ll have driven a bunch of traffic to it who happily link to it like they’re sucking up to the teacher.

Beyond that, I’ll point you to the ever-almighty YouTube…or…that beautiful looking comment section at the bottom of the page.

So, what’s the deal?

The Answer To The Big Question:
Semrush Vs Long Tail Pro

Now, in an ideal world, when it comes to Semrush vs Long Tail Pro …I’d tell you to buy both of these tools…but…I know usually you want one or the other. Both wasn’t really what you came here for. And, I’m willing to bet that even though I’ve just recommended it, your eyes have probably rolled over at the thought of trying to learn and use both.

I know mine did the first time I read a post recommending that.

But, if you’ve got another 60 seconds spare I’ll tell you why I think you should go for both:

Basically, there are two types of keyword research:

  • Traditional Keyword Research
  • Competitor-Based Keyword Research

Now hear this…both approaches work…and…both approaches have their benefits…so…considering I believe your keyword research should be at the front of your online strategy, I can’t really choose one over the other.

The fact is, you NEED both to truly dominate and crush your competitors. Both would increase your rankings faster than one alone. Both would give you the tools and weapons to find the hot-buyer-ready traffic that you need to truly grow your business.

BUT…if you held a gun to my head and said choose one or the other…

I’d Go With Semrush

At the end of the day, competitor based research means you have less thinking to do…you’re pretty much handed the keys to your niche with content ideas, what’s working, what’s failing, who to target, who to ignore…and that…means you get a faster start when it comes to dominating Google.

Anyway, my suggestion right now is:

Take a FREE Trial!

…Of both tools. Try them out, see which gives you better data. Then as soon as you’ve made the decision which one works best for your website, cancel the loser and stick with the winner. (Obviously report back here which one you chose, if nothing else I want to know who’s coming out on top in this review.)

Here is Semrush:

And here’s Long Tail Pro:

Head over to both websites now (don’t worry they should open in new tabs), sign up for your free trial and then spend some time playing around on them. Make sure to sign up to both first because starting the trials together will help you to make a fast decision on which tool actually benefits you more.

You see, the more you wait around to get started, the longer you’re on the losing side of this game, your competitors might have already chosen their tool and they might be hot on your heels…or…widening the gap between you.

So take the trial, pick one, and stick with it.

P.S. – If keyword research is something that you’d like to know more about, let me know in the comments below and I’ll start pumping out some helpful articles on that topic. You see, I’ve been in this game for a few years now (always under an alias)…but…I’ve got more than one string to my bow. And anything I can do to help you move closer to your goals is on the table. You’ve just gotta let me know what you need to see. So, throw a comment below if you found this review on Semrush vs Long Tail Pro helpful and if there’s anything else on your mind!

So-Called Instagram Experts Have Lied To You! Here’s How To Fix The Damage!

1
Instagram-Experts-Lie-To-You

I’ve got to admit something. I’ve changed my mind about what I’m going to write on this last part of the series.

Why? The answer is simple. You see, in the last part, I told you that I’d tell you all about the super-easy way to find a huge list of hashtags that is basically an untapped source of Instagram goodness.

Well, I am going to tell you where to find them. But first, I’m going to take it one step further and show you something that will put you above most Instagram “experts” out there right now. You see:

Those Experts Have Lied To You

I know, I know, not what you wanted to hear. But it’s true. Here’s what I’m talking about:

First of all, one of the main ideas I try to hammer home over and over is that…hashtags open doors…but…they’re not magic. You can’t simply find a list of them, post them every day…and…expect thousands of likes and followers to flood your page. It doesn’t work like that.

Let’s stick with hashtags opening doors for a minute. If you use #instafollow – which currently has 81,281,881 posts inside – you’re opening a door to people who look for that hashtag. You probably already know that. BUT WAIT!

Before you X off this page thinking you’ve found the answer to your problems…there’s something you should know.

And that is the…

Big Mistake Most People Make When It Comes To Hashtags

Just because it has 81 Million posts, that doesn’t mean 81 Million people are ready and waiting to see your next post. Hell, it doesn’t even mean those people search for that hashtag regularly. No, what it means is that 81 Million people have used that hashtag up until now.

Do you really think people go searching for #followmeplease? No, no, no, no…NO! They don’t.

Yet 6,661,658 people have used that hashtag. In fact, I’ve seen it given as a suggestion on some Hashtag apps (which by the way, are the worst thing you could use right now for your Instagram…they’re basically like a cancer to your engagement – but I’ll talk about this later.) Onward.

So even though some “experts” suggest you go and find the most popular hashtags out there – based on the number of posts – it’s not the right thing to do.

And think about it for yourself: What I’m saying makes sense, right?

In fact, if you’re skeptical, I understand, I mean, I’m just a guy on a blog…so…go ahead and prove me right. Next time you post, somewhere in the middle of your hashtag group, make up a completely random hashtag. Something whacky. Like: #IHaveACanvasPaintingOfParisOnMyWall.

Okay, then hit post. Now, just because I posted that, you’d be able to search for it and see that there is in fact, 1 post of that hashtag.

Now, ignoring the fact that you might go off and search for it right now just to see if I’ve actually posted using that hashtag, do you really think that 1 person is regularly searching for it?

Of course not. It just means I used it once. So if my hashtag only has 1 post, but that doesn’t mean 1 person searches for it…then…it makes sense that just because 6 million people use #followmeplease…that doesn’t mean 6 million people are regularly searching for it.

So, that’s why you’re not getting the results you want from Instagram. You’re just using the wrong hashtags.

But, using the wrong hashtags doesn’t just give you crappy results. It causes other…bigger…problems for your Instagram.

Problems like:

Risking The Shadow-ban

Let me explain.

The shadow ban is an unconfirmed…but…kinda obvious punishment that Instagram has started dishing out to unsuspecting users.

It basically puts you in a “no-go” zone for a while. Which just means, your posts aren’t shown to as many people…your engagement drops…and sometimes…you lose followers.

If you’ve noticed a drop in engagement…or…a drop in the rate you’re growing at, this could be why. The reason you’re put in that “no-go” zone is simple: The hashtags you’re using set off Instagram’s alarm bells.

Look, as a platform, Instagram wants to serve good, quality content to their users. They don’t want to become some garage sale where people just throw what they want, where they want.

Again, let’s look at this logically. Why would Instagram be happy with you posting a picture of your food, a puppy, a yacht, and a selfie…then…tagging all of them with #entrepreneur #quote #motivation #luxury #goals.

Those hashtags are not relevant. There’s no reason that someone searching for #entrepreneur should see photos of your food…or…your shoes.

You might have done this, you might have seen someone else do it…but…either way, it’s not something you should just blindly keep doing. Sure, you might squeeze out a few more likes on every post, almost accidentally…but…you won’t ever pick up any loyal fans doing it.

Why?

Because your fans…and customers…like to think that you’re putting effort into what you do, just for them. They want to believe that you love what you do and you love providing them with your content.

When you think of it like that – do you imagine that they’ll be impressed when they see you using the same irrelevant group of hashtags repeatedly?

No, they’ll think something like this:

“Wow, he’s putting no effort at all into what he does…”

Or…

“She’s supposed to be a Social Media Manager? Even I could copy and paste those hashtags!”

BOTH of these look really bad on you.

So, what do we do instead? What’s the alternative?

Use A More Exclusive Set Of Hashtags

By exclusive, I just mean a set of relevant hashtags that fewer people have seen, or have access to.

I’m still talking about a set that you can just copy and paste. And, I’m still talking about a set that you use as a “seed” to find other even more specific hashtags.

At this point, most people reach for their phone, search for hashtag apps, download several, and use those for a while before being right back where they were before. (I know that, because I’ve done it.)

But there’s one huge problem with hashtag apps and lists that websites post for free…

They’re overused..and…they set off the same alarm bells as before.

Here’s some proof:

One of the more well-known hashtag apps is TagFire – a lot of those “experts” we talked about earlier recommend this one – and in September alone, it had a little less than 5,000 downloads.

It had a similar number in August…and July…and June…and so on. That app has been on the app store for years.

That means thousands upon thousands of people have use those hashtags repeatedly, on every post, and they have for years. (I don’t think it’s ever updated.)

So, how about another popular resource? TagsForLikes? Heard of it? A lot of people have. In fact, those “experts recommend this one even more often than TagFire.

And, it shows up on Google for thousands of keywords like: “hashtags for instagram”.

But…

Just like TagFire…the hashtags they give you have been used…to death. 769,000 people every month visit TagsForLikes…and guess what? They all get given the same group of hashtags.

So, what do I mean when I say exclusive? I mean that those 769,000 people can’t just open up the website, steal the hashtags then post them every day like clockwork.

I’m sure you’re wondering how anyone would manage to keep a more exclusive list of hashtags. It’s simple – you just put a hurdle in front of them. Then, only the best type of Instagram user will jump over that hurdle to get the list.

And we know one Instagram expert out there who has a list just like that. Her list is pretty good…and…her customers have said things like:

“I don’t know what magic potion you put in your hashtag guide but it’s working like crazy!”

I’ll tell you exactly what that magic potion is…it’s exclusive hashtags. And to be honest, we know it’s a good book because…we bought it. To check it over and, y’know…see what all the fuss was about.

But the real question is:

How Do You Think It’s Still Exclusive?

Well, she charges $49 for it…and…it only has 40 different niches inside. So the only people that buy it, are serious about using it for growth. They’re not just wanting a quick, cheap fix. They want something that will work.

That’s all great and everything…but…we thought we’d do better, so…for the next 5 days, we’re giving you a more exclusive list (because it’s brand new) of 205 hot niches.

And we’re NOT going to ask you for $49…even though we’re giving you so much more upfront.

No, for now, we’re going to ask for less.

You can get that more exclusive, brand new, list of hashtags…in exchange for…drumroll please…

Just $7.

And, before you think it…

NO! There’s no catch…because…we hate those people just as much as you. In fact, I’ll even start a hunting party with you just to go out and find them…plus, I’ll buy the pitchforks.

Anyway, the only reason we want your email address is so we know you’re serious and we know you’re the type of person who makes the most of opportunities when they come up. We only want the “grab the bull by the horns” type of people. The “seize the day” type of people. The “I’m here to win” type of people.

So, if you want it, come and get it!

Oh, and if you’re fast…you’ll get a bunch of bonuses that I’ll bet you love just as much as the hashtag book.

P.S. – Just remember: The hashtags you’re using right now aren’t working. The ones you can get on hashtag apps and hashtag websites are over-used and will do more damage than good…and…the only way to get hashtags that work, is to find more exclusive lists of them. Plus, you might accidentally use any one of the piles of banned hashtags that Instagram instantly uses to mark you as a spammer! Make the decision to step past all of those “wannabes”!

P.P.S. – We’ve removed the Hashtag guide while we update with the most relevant hashtags at the moment! Let us know below if you want to be added to the waiting list!
